Below are are campus wide technologies that are among our most frequent faculty workshop offerings:

As with all things in education, the incorporation of technology into your teaching practice should begin with your optimal pedagogical process.

Blackboard

Blackboard is the learning management system (LMS) for the North Dakota University System. It serves as the central hub for your all of your course communications, assignments and materials. Many of the other technologies on campus are integrated directly within Blackboard

Blackboard Ally

Blackboard Ally is a revolutionary product that integrates seamlessly into Blackboard and focuses on making digital course content more inclusive and accessible for all users! 

Google Apps for Education 

NDSU faculty, students and staff have access to Google Apps for Education, providing access to many familiar tools for productivity and collaboration with some added benefits of being a Google campus.

Optical Mark Reader (OMR)

The Optical Mark Reader (OMR) System at NDSU is operated by the main campus IT Help Desk. This system consists of an OMR scanner, software enabling the OMR to write scanned data to a file, and custom-written programs which read the raw data files from the scanner and score them. 

Respondus LockDown Browser

Respondus LockDown Browser is a secure browser that locks down the testing environment within the NDUS Blackboard Learn. 

SafeAssign

SafeAssign, a tool within Blackboard, compares submitted assignments against a set of academic papers to identify areas of overlap between the submitted assignment and existing works. SafeAssign generates an Originality Report containing the results of the matching process which instructors can use to help determine if the content was plagiarized. 

PointSolutions

NDSU has a campus wide license for PointSolutions as our personal response (clicker) solution. Clickers provide an easy way to actively engage your students in your lectures or conduct surveys and quizzes. Results can be displayed in real time to encourage discussion or can be uploaded into your Blackboard Grade Center. 

VoiceThread

NDSU VoiceThread  is a collaborative, multimedia slide show that holds images, documents, and videos and allows people to navigate slides and leave comments in 5 ways - using voice (with a mic or telephone), text, audio file, or video (via a webcam).

YuJa 

YuJa is a video management and lecture capture system that allows you to make recordings of your instruction and also organize any video assets that you use in your courses. Accessed through Blackboard, YuJa helps keep all of your materials in one place. It is installed at IDC lab computers.

Zoom

Zoom is a great tool to conduct remote meetings. It is easy to use, and can be used on many devices or platforms. A user can install the app on their desktop and mobile device. Meetings can hold up to 300 people and recordings are available.

Adobe Acrobat Pro 

Adobe is a professional tool for creating, editing, converting, and securely managing PDF documents. It is installed at IDC lab computers.

Adobe Creative Cloud

Adobe Creative Cloud is a subscription suite offering access to Adobe’s creative apps such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro for design, video, and web projects. It is installed at IDC lab computers.

Camtasia

Camtasia is a screen recording and video editing software used to create tutorials, presentations, and instructional videos. It is installed at IDC lab computers.

Audacity

Audacity is a free, open-source audio editing and recording software ideal for creating and refining soundtracks, podcasts, and voiceovers. It is installed at IDC lab computers.
