YuJa Lecture Capture, Video Recording, and Storage
Overview
YuJa is a Video Content Management System that allows users to store, manage, and distribute media content. All NDSU faculty, staff, and students have access to a personal YuJa account that allows them to host video content and record video lectures for academic use.
Getting Started
Users will log into YuJa through Blackboard.
Best Practices
YuJa is not intended as a long-term storage platform. YuJa videos that have not been viewed for 1(one) year are removed on a rolling basis. Please visit our page on Video Recording Purge (Delete) Schedule KB page for more information.
Learn More/How To's
YuJa seamlessly integrates with Blackboard to:
- Post Videos to your Blackboard Course: Once you have created a video, you will need to deploy it to your Blackboard course. There are multiple ways to add your YuJa videos to Blackboard. Refer to the Adding YuJa Links and Videos to a Blackboard Course KB page for more information.
- Create Video Assignments within Blackboard: Within Blackboard, instructors can create assignments that allow students to submit video responses. Assignments are typically created in the Content area but can also be added to Learning Modules and Folders. Instructions and file attachments needed for the assignment are provided at the time of creation. Refer to the YuJa Video Assignments with Blackboard Ultra website for more information.
- Integrate Video Quizzes with Blackboard content items for Gradebook Sync: YuJa allows instructors to link Video Quizzes in Blackboard to seamlessly sync grade results between both systems. To achieve this, each unique Blackboard item must be linked to a corresponding Video Quiz. For detailed instructions, refer to the Creating YuJa Video Quizzes KB page.
- Media Management: Manage Media includes a suite of tools to organize, store, and manage media for your organization within the Video Platform. This includes the ability to organize content into Media Channels, search and maintain media collections, share media, upload media, caption both uploaded and Platform-created content, and use the Video Editor. Visit the YuJa Managing Media Overview help article for more details.
- Media Channels: Media channels in YuJa serve as a shared space for content, whereas Manage Media serves as a content creator's private workspace for storing, editing, and managing media before publishing and sharing. It is in the Media Channel where students can access instructor-created content. Visit the Media Channels KB page for more information.
