Create Recordings Using YuJa

This information will help instructors, staff, and students record content using YuJa.

Users will log into YuJa through Blackboard and use their NDSU Identifier username (first.last) and password. You only need to install the YuJa Software Capture Application once on your computer. If you are using the instructor's computer in an instrumented classroom, YuJa is already installed. Please note, Chromebooks are not supported at this time.

Installing YuJa Software Capture Application

Start Recording a Video

• Select Create Recording at the top of the YuJa Media Library page.
• Click Launch Application
  
• Enter a Title and Description.
• Set/test your video, audio, and screen preferences in the configuration menu on the left side of the Software Capture preview page.
• Confirm the settings in the preview window and check the audio indicator to make sure the microphone is working.
• Click “Start” to begin recording.

Adding YuJa Video Links to Blackboard Courses

Assignment Submission

When submitting an assignment with a link to a video that has already been created or uploaded to YuJa, click on the link icon or the circle + in the formatting toolbar.

• Link icon   if you have a link already copied to paste in the field
  
  
• Circle + select Content Market > YuJa to find the video you want to post
  
  
  
  

Link Tool

If you click on the Link tool Link icon to add the URL, place it in the Link URL field and add a title in the Link text field.

Circle + Tool

If you select the Circle + tool Circle + icon for Insert Content choose Content Market and YuJa Media Chooser.

• If you already have a video in YuJa, select that one and choose Insert. Other options are to upload a file to YuJa or Create a recording and insert in the course when ready.
