Media Channels

YuJa lets you upload, manage, share, and analyze media content, with tools for quizzes, grading, and integration with Blackboard.

Media Channels

Media channels in YuJa serve as a shared space for content, whereas Manage Media serves as a content creator's private workspace for storing, editing, and managing media before publishing and sharing. It is in the Media Channel where students can access instructor-created content.

Bulk Upload, Publish, and Share Content

Content creators can bulk upload, publish, and share content to their media channels, allowing for a more efficient, streamlined process. For more information on adding and organizing content in media channels, consult YuJa's library of help articles on Media Channels.

Media Player

While there are multiple ways of viewing content in YuJa, many users prefer to use the Media Player as their primary means of viewing content. The Media Player is fully accessible and offers customization options for both users and organizations. Users may

  • manage media controls, video quality settings, and viewing preferences
  • access captions and customize their display
  • read interactive transcripts as they view the video
  • take personalized notes
  • download attached resources and documents

For more information on using the Media Player, consult YuJa's library of help articles on the YuJa Media Player.

Video Quizzes

With YuJa, you have the ability to create or take a video quiz (a YuJa video embedded with quiz questions that appear as the video plays). Instructors can incorporate these video quizzes into a Blackboard module as a "check for understanding" component, or they can be added to the Blackboard Grade Center as an Assignment.

For more information, visit YuJa's library of help articles on Video Quizzes.

My Grades

Once video quizzes have been published to a Media Channel, content creators may view responses, grade quizzes, and access analytics in YuJa's Grade Book. This content may be integrated into Blackboard to allow for grade syncing.

For more information, visit YuJa's library of help articles on My Grades.

Usage and Analytics

Analytics

In order to collect user-specific viewing data in YuJa, the video must be correctly linked in Blackboard using the YuJa Blackboard integration.

Types of data you can collect:

  • User Analytics: User Analytics offers a breakdown of participation by class or group, including views and total play length. For more details, refer to the User Analytics help article.
  • Content Analytics: Content Analytics provides insights into individual media files and user interactions, including an overall summary, specific data on views, browsers, operating systems, and a segment-by-segment breakdown of content viewing patterns. See the Content Analytics help article for details.
  • Group Analytics: Group Analytics gives you information on historical cumulative views, unique views, and popular videos, available on either a group-by-group or overall basis. See the Groups Analytics help article for details.

Access Summary Analytics for Individual Media
Content Creators and Administrators can access Summary Analytics and more detailed Content Analytics directly from the Media Details pane for individual media content. The traditional Analytics view is still available through the Main Menu. Summary Analytics provide information about views, viewing behavior, and additional information.

See the Accessing Summary Analytics help article for details.
