TurningPoint - Overview (1)
A clicker, or student response system, is a tool for active learning in the classroom through 100% student participation in question-and-answer sessions.
NDSU has a campus wide license for Turning Technologies as our personal response (clicker) solution. Clickers provide an easy way to actively engage your students in your lectures or conduct surveys and quizzes. Results can be displayed in real time to encourage discussion or can be uploaded into your Blackboard Grade Center.
HyFlex Instruction Scenarios
- Faculty already using PowerPoint and TurningPoint desktop software in the classroom:
Option 1: In the HyFlex model we do not recommend using only clicker device in the classroom. At any giving time, a student can flex in and out of the physical classroom and become a remote student. Solution: Enable mobile setting in the TurningPoint session to allow remote students to participate (clicker and mobile responses).
Option 2: Move to using TurningPoint Hybrid Web (ONLY mobile responses)
- New Faculty using TurningPoint we recommend that you start with TurningPoint Web. TurningPoint Web does not require an instructor packet or a physical clicker (for the student).
