Zoom Participant
Zoom participant is someone who attends a Zoom meeting.
Overview
A Zoom participant is a person who joins a Zoom meeting, either through a link, meeting ID, or phone call. Participants can interact with other participants using audio, video, and chat features.
Getting Started
- All new Zoom users should activate their Zoom accounts.
- Log into the web portal to set up your default Zoom settings. It is recommended Zoom participants download the Zoom client. Most NDSU-owned computers and all classroom computers will have the application installed by default.
Best Practices
- During a Zoom meeting, the host controls all security settings and meeting tools. For more information visit the Zoom Security and Zoom Navigation KB pages.
- It is recommended for any NDSU activities including class sessions and work meetings to log into the NDSU Zoom portal or desktop client. Most meeting hosts require authorization to attend. This ensures a secure virtual meeting space for all participants.
