Improve Course Accessibility with Anthology Ally
About this session.
Session Overview
This workshop will cover how to improve course accessibility with Blackboard's Anthology Ally tool, and different strategies such as the Plus-One strategy for making your course accessible.
Learning Goal
This session includes an overview of Anthology Ally and what the indicators (looks like gas gauges) mean and will walk through some tips on fixing specific content in your course. We will go over how to prioritize what to fix. The focus is on making the most important parts of your course as accessible as possible and so serve all students equitably. Though we would like to be 100% accessible, this is a work in progress and improvement is what counts.
Learning Objectives:
- Explain why Accessible course content is important
- Describe the Plus-One strategy
- List two ways Anthology Ally can help faculty make their Blackboard course more accessible
- Explain how Ally helps students with course material right now
- Fix the accessibility issues for files on a Blackboard page
