Media Channels
Media Channels, also known as Course Channels to many NDSU faculty, serve as a shared space for students to access course content. Manage Media serves as the content creator's private workspace for storing, editing, and managing media before publishing and sharing.
Creating, Accessing, and Publishing
Once a Media Channel is created, instructors can enable student publishing. Both instructors and students can then access the channel and upload media content. To learn more about creating, accessing, and publishing, visit the Media Channels - Creating, Accessing, and Publishing KB page.
Bulk Upload, Publish, and Share Content
Content creators can bulk upload, publish, and share content to their Media Channels, allowing for a more efficient, streamlined process. To learn more, visit YuJa's library of help articles on Media Channels.
Media Player
While there are multiple ways of viewing content in YuJa, many users prefer to use the Media Player as their primary means of viewing content. The Media Player is fully accessible and offers customization options for both users and organizations. To learn more, visit YuJa's library of help articles on the YuJa Media Player.
Video Quizzes (Question-Based)
With YuJa, you can create or take a video quiz (a YuJa video embedded with quiz questions that appear as the video plays). It also allows instructors to create playback quizzes to award points based on how much of the video viewers watch, with grades syncing to the Blackboard. To learn more, visit the YuJa Video Quizzes KB page.
My Grades
Once video quizzes have been published to a Media Channel, content creators may view responses, grade quizzes, and access analytics in YuJa's Grade Book. Content can also be integrated into Blackboard to allow for grade syncing. To learn more, visit YuJa's library of help articles on My Grades.
Usage and Analytics
To collect user-specific viewing data in YuJa, the video must be inserted into Blackboard using YuJa's Blackboard integration. Types of data you can collect:
- User Analytics: User Analytics offers a breakdown of participation by class or group, including views and total play length.
- Content Analytics: Content Analytics provides insights into individual media files and user interactions, including an overall summary, specific data on views, browsers, operating systems, and a segment-by-segment breakdown of content viewing patterns.
- Group Analytics: Group Analytics gives you information on historical cumulative views, unique views, and popular videos, available on either a group-by-group or overall basis.
Access Summary Analytics for Individual Media
Content Creators and Administrators can access Summary Analytics and more detailed Content Analytics directly from the Media Details pane for individual media content. The traditional Analytics view is still available through the Main Menu.
To learn more about usage and analytics, visit YuJa's Accessing Summary Analytics help article for details.
Content Retention Schedules
To maintain appropriate storage levels in the YuJa system, please visit the Video Recording Purge (Delete) Schedule KB page for more information.
