LAI supports faculty, staff and students in effective and innovative uses of technology in the learning environment through consultations.
As a part of the overall technology changes, new instructional technologies are being developed at a rapid pace. The Learning & Applied Innovation (LAI) team keeps up-to-date on developments and trends to provide evidence-based recommendations for these technologies.
LAI supports faculty, staff and students in effective and innovative uses of technology in the learning environment. We support new ways of teaching and learning, including creative approaches to teaching strategies such as, student engagement, course design, assessment, collaboration, and delivery methods. Our team is available for implementation and the integration of technology into the diverse academic environment.
The Learning and Applied Innovation Center (LAIC), through a collaboration with Office of Teaching and Learning (OTL), includes an Instructional Design (ID) team available for consultations with faculty and instructors.
To request a consultation with one of our team members, please fill out the LAIC Instructional Design Consultation Request form. If you are planning to design a new course or revise an existing course, submit your request 6 weeks before the expected launch date of your proposed course. Schedule early as instructional design services are offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
LAIC, OTL and Blackboard Instructional Design Services teamed up to develop four Faculty Certificate courses including an Exemplar Course Design Rubric. These courses have been reviewed externally, as well as internally, and are ready for enrollment. Faculty Certificate Courses and Exemplar Course Design Rubric
