Departmental Printing
Overview
Departmental Printing services offer a convenient and cost-effective way to handle an organization's printing and copying needs, with added benefits of service and supply management, secured access, and efficient billing. Our departmental printing resources include a variety of options to accommodate different printing needs:
- Self-Supported Printing: This option allows users to manage their own printing needs independently. It links to the "Printing Self-Support" resources page, which provides detailed information and guidance on how to utilize these services effectively.
-
Single-Function Centralized Printing: This option is ideal for those who require printing services for their departments and want IT to manage the printer for themselves. IT recommends the departments to purchase from one of the Standard Printers listed and request for a network address. For setting up the printer afterwards, contact the IT Service Center or, refer to our KB article Network Printer Setup.
-
Multi-Function Centralized Printing/Scanning/Faxing: For those who need more advanced capabilities, this option offers a comprehensive solution that includes printing, scanning, and faxing services. It links to the Ag Comm Print & Copy Services for added convenience.
Moreover, departments are encouraged to use centralized printing services for large printing jobs to save costs and resources. For example, guidelines suggest using the Print Shop for printing more than 100 black & white pages or more than 25 color pages, as the cost per page is least when using the printer/copiers provided by the institution.
