Teams is a product of Office 365 that can be run through the Office 365 web portal (use NDUS credentials) or installed as an application in Windows, Apple OS X, Apple iOS, and Android environments.
Overview
Think of it as a series of tools for collaborating around the needs of a particular group. This includes team chats, file sharing, video conferencing, etc. It also has the capability of many of the Skype for Business features such as direct chatting and chatting with groups of individuals.
Types of Teams:
- Other - this is the most common and works well for departments and workgroups. It gives the most access of all teams to all members by default
- Class - designed to be used for courses by instructors. Has similar features as Staff type and comes with a special OneNote notebook where the instructor has a sheet for each student and each student can only see their sheet
- Professional Learning Community (PLC)
- Staff - designed for a supervisor of a work group. Has similar features as Class type and comes with a special OneNote notebook where the supervisor has a sheet for each staff member and each staff member can only see their sheet
