Course Accessibility Checklist
This checklist will prepare you for your upcoming course, ensuring it is accessible for all students. Use this checklist to make your content accessible before uploading to your course.
Documents
- PDF text can be highlighted, copied, and pasted (Optical Character Recognition is applied).
- Headings were utilized and are in the logical order (title is Heading 1, subheading is Heading 2, etc).
- Reading order has been verified by pressing the tab key to navigate through the document.
Images
- Alternative text (alt text) is provided for all images. Alt Text coveys the image's content, but not a detailed description.
- No images of tables or text are included. All tables and text are readable by a screen reader.
Tables
- Table is not a picture.
- Cells are not merged.
- There are no empty cells
Video/Audio
- All videos are closed captioned.
- All audio files have included transcripts.
Color
- Contrast between text and background is sufficient (Black text on a white background is readable, but green text on a red background is not).
Links
- Hyperlinks are descriptive and tell the user where they are going
