Overview
Online courses are developed and taught using methods and strategies that are designed to engage and motivate students. Online courses are defined as courses offered, either in real-time (synchronously) or anywhere (asynchronously), via the Internet.
Getting Started
The Online Instructor Guide provides methods to design, develop and teach online courses. The Online Student Guide provides a variety of resources to help students navigate the online environment and provides tips on how to be a successful online learner. The Online Teaching Technology Hub uses the pedagogy first and technology second model and organizes into categories of learning outcomes.
Best Practices
Teaching online and learning online is different from the traditional face-to-face model. Courses take time to be designed, developed, and taught. Several best practices for instructors include instructor presence, learning objectives by week/unit, clear expectations, and student engagement,
