Printing Allocations

This document provides information about printing allocations for students, faculty, and staff.

Student Printing Allocation

The printing allocation for students is the equivalent of 500 black and white pages per regular semester. Currently this amounts to a printing allocation of 15 "printing dollars". Unused printing dollars allocated for Fall will be carried over into Spring Semester and subsequently in to the Summer Semester. The allocations will be made within one or two working days of the start of classes. All printing allocations will be reset to zero in August of each year. This will usually be done a few days before classes begin for the Fall Semester to allow time to start over with new allocations for the new semester and fiscal "printing" year. In other words, printing allocations will carry over from Fall to Spring to Summer but will not be carried over for the next Fall Semester. Any unused printing allocation will not be refunded to the student's account.

Faculty and Staff

ITS will also fund a small emergency printing allocation of 20 pages to faculty and staff for the entire academic year (until the accounts are reset in August). The emergency allocation provides a way for employees to print a page or two if necessary while using the computer clusters.

Additional Pages

In all cases, once the printing allocation is used additional black and white pages may be printed at the rate of 3 cents per page or 15 cents per page for color using Bison Bucks. Employees may also use Bison Charge to pay for additional printing.
