Content Management System (CMS)

The Web Content Management System (CMS) provides a no-programming-required interface to update NDSU web pages.

Overview

CMS is provided as the primary platform for publishing web content at www.ndsu.edu. Authors do not need to know web programming and instead use a browser-based rich text editor to contribute content. CMS has a built-in workflow so that contributors can be authors only or authors and publishers.

Getting Started

  • Request access - To be granted a CMS account or access to another group in CMS, you should contact a workspace manager for the page or the IT Help Desk.
  • Terminology - Terminology is a group of specialized words or terms and meanings commonly used in CMS documentation.
  • Backend Tour - Backend means the server, application and database that work behind the scenes to deliver information to the userGet oriented the first time you log into CMS Backend.
  • Frontend Tour - Everything that you see when you are navigating around the website, is Frontend. It refers to the user interface.
  • CMS (TYPO3) - Beginner Basics - In this 1 hour workshop, we will focus on the basic information you need to know to get started using the CMS, and be able to start working on your site. Visit IDC for further assistance.
    Note: We only provide workshops for NDSU template.
