Google - How to Work on Projects Offline
Below are instructions on how to work on Google Workspace projects when you are offline.
Before You Begin
To enable offline access for Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, you must:
- Be connected to the internet.
- Use Google Chrome.
- Be signed in with your Bison Login.
- Not use Incognito/Private Browsing mode.
- Have the Google Docs Offline Chrome extension installed.
- Have enough available storage on your device to save files.
Turn On Offline Access
- Open Google Chrome and sign in with your Bison Login.
- Go to drive.google.com/drive/settings.
- Select Create, open, and edit your recent Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides files on this device while offline.
Make Files Available Offline
- Go to drive.google.com.
- Right-click the Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides file you want to access offline.
- Select Available offline.
Tip:To save multiple files, hold Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) while selecting the files, then choose Available offline.
Preview Offline Files
- Make sure offline access is enabled.
- Go to drive.google.com.
- Select the Ready for offline icon in the upper-right corner.
- Choose Offline preview.
