VoiceThread
VoiceThread is a third-party tool integrated with Blackboard that enables collaborative, multimedia discussions. Instructors and students can upload and share presentations, documents, images, videos, and other media, then interact through text, audio, or video comments.
Getting Started
- Access VoiceThread through your course in Blackboard. Log into Blackboard using your Bison Login credentials; no separate VoiceThread account or login is required.
- The first time you open VoiceThread from Blackboard, your account is created automatically.
- To create or participate in VoiceThread activities, access the VoiceThread link provided by your instructor within your Blackboard course.
Best Practices
- Assign a low-stakes activity to help students become familiar with VoiceThread before graded assignments.
- Provide clear instructions, expectations, and grading criteria (rubrics, when applicable).
- Establish guidelines for respectful and meaningful discussions.
- Share examples of effective comments and replies.
