Blackboard
A Learning Management System (LMS) is a digital platform designed to support teaching and learning. At NDSU, Blackboard serves as the university’s LMS, providing a centralized space for students, faculty, and staff to engage with academic content, collaborate, and manage coursework both in and outside the classroom.

You will get prompted for Duo Authentication each time you sign in to Blackboard.
Use Cases
Blackboard can be used in different ways:
- Term-based instruction.
- Development courses are temporary shells that allow instructors to build courses.
- Accessing courses and communication with instructors and peers.

Universal Design/Accessibility
- Use Blackboard tools to create accessible and inclusive course content that supports all learners.
- Ensure materials are properly structured, use built-in accessibility checkers, and provide captions, transcripts, and alternative formats when applicable.
- Follow Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles by offering multiple ways for students to engage with content and demonstrate learning.
- Faculty are encouraged to meet with an Instructional Designer for guidance on accessible course design and to support effective implementation of best practices.
