Cellular Service - Contract, Rate and Billing Information

NDSU provides centralized cellular services for faculty and staff through the Voice & Collaboration Services Department. Below is more information on contracts, rates and billing.

Rates/Contact Information

Charges are passed-through from the carrier to NDSU departments with no mark-up from Voice & Collaborations Services Department.  

Verizon has a 24 month contract, eligible for upgrade after 18 months.  Penalty charge for early contract cancellation.

Rates are listed below based on the latest contract:

Voice Plans:

Basic Voice (flip phone) Plan -100 shared mins (minutes are shared with others in the same plan) – includes:
100 Min. + 100 messages  $23.99

Smart Phones:

Smart phone-including international- Custom Nationwide Unlimited Talk & Text, Email & Data with Mobile Hot Spot with Travel Pass feature that includes 210 countries.  Users are automatically enrolled in travel pass as there are no additional fees until they travel outside the US (please verify the country you are traveling to is included using this link- Verizon Travel Pass  When using this plan and feature there are no fees while in Canada and Mexico, and fees for the other 210 countries is $5/per day (for each day the service is used while outside the US) $36.99

Billing

Billing is provided through the PCR general ledger interface on the 16th of each month. One bill contains all cellular, telecommunications, and emergency technologies charges. To request call detail records for a particular cellular phone number for a given month, the department's Telephone Administrator can contact NDSU IT Business Unit for this service.
