Blackboard Courses To Automatically Open

Beginning in spring 2027, Blackboard courses will open to students automatically at 8 a.m. three days before the course starts, and instructors can hide individual content until it is ready.

Starting in spring 2027, Blackboard courses will automatically open to students at 8 a.m. three days before the course starts, so instructors do not need to make them available manually.

Hiding Course Content

Instructors can control the visibility of individual course items, folders, learning modules, and other content. This allows you to prepare course materials in advance while keeping them hidden from students until they are ready.

To hide content, locate the item in your Blackboard course and change its visibility setting to Hidden from students. See the Blackboard Help documentation for instructions on managing content visibility.
