NDSU Ombuds Kristine Paranica shared an article on leadership patterns and reminded campus that confidential, neutral support is available to every employee.

In an Oct. 6 message to campus, NDSU Ombuds Kristine Paranica marked Ombuds Day and shared an article on how pressure reveals the leadership patterns we already have. She notes that, regardless of your position, you are a leader.

The Article

The article, “Pressure Doesn’t Create Our Leadership Patterns. It Reveals Them,” is available as a Word document.

What the Ombuds Does

Organizational ombuds offer a confidential space where people can think through a concern and make their best decisions. The NDSU Ombuds mediates, supports dialogue, and works with leaders, faculty, students, and staff. The role is informal, confidential, independent, and neutral.

  • Conflict coaching

  • Mediation

  • Issue resolution

  • Workshops

  • Referrals to other campus resources

How to Reach the Ombuds

Kristine Paranica is in NDSU Library Room 20C and can be reached at 701-231-5114.

Contacts with the Ombuds are treated as confidential, but anything written in an email is an open record. The Ombuds is not an office of notice, so contacting the Ombuds does not constitute notice to the university unless you ask the Ombuds to contact others.
