Faculty and staff can nominate outstanding juniors, seniors, and graduate students for membership in NDSU's Blue Key Honor Society, with nominations due at midnight on Tuesday, September 1.
Blue Key Honor Society is seeking faculty and staff nominations for new members. Twice a year, Blue Key honors outstanding juniors, seniors, and graduate students at North Dakota State University by offering them membership in the society. Members are chosen not only for what they have done, but for what they can do in the future, and are recognized for outstanding service to their fellow students, NDSU, the community, and the state of North Dakota.
Nominations are due at midnight on Tuesday, September 1. The entire nomination process is confidential, so please do not tell students that you have nominated them.
The Four Pillars
Blue Key looks for students who exemplify each of its four pillars: Service, Leadership, Scholarship, and Character.
Eligibility Requirements
- Be a current junior, senior, or graduate student enrolled at NDSU. Sophomores may be petitioned in with an 80% vote from Blue Key members on selection night.
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
- Be in good academic standing and demonstrate exemplary character.
How to Nominate
To nominate a student, complete the recommendation survey and prepare a one-page snapshot about the student that active members can review quickly. The snapshot can include photos, fun facts, a list of accomplishments, and testimonies about why the student is a good fit for Blue Key.
Email both documents to Ethan Blesie at ethan.blesie@ndsu.edu by midnight on Tuesday, September 1. An example of the documents is available on request. For questions, contact Ethan Blesie, Vice President of Blue Key Honor Society, at ethan.blesie@ndsu.edu.
