Updates to Employee Recognition Social and Faculty Celebration of Excellence events

Award ceremonies will be restructured into two campus events that will bring faculty and staff together.

What's Changing

Beginning this spring, the Employee Recognition Social and the Faculty Celebration of Excellence will be restructured into two unified campus events. All the previous celebrations, such as staff recognition awards, faculty recognition awards, years of service, faculty promotions, and emeritus appointments, will still be celebrated throughout the two events.

Bringing these celebrations together reflects what makes NDSU special: one community of educators, scholars, and professionals working side‑by‑side to serve our students and university. This new combined format will allow faculty and staff to recognize achievements together, foster deeper cross‑campus connections, and highlight the many ways our work is collaborative.

Spring Celebration Information

• Format: In person and online (more information to come)
• Date: Tuesday, April 7, 1:30 to 3 pm

What to Expect

• Two celebrations annually: one in spring and one in fall.
• Broader recognition, one shared stage: awards and milestones historically recognized separately will be honored in a single gathering each semester.
• Same spirit, more togetherness: our traditions of excellence, service, innovation, and community impact remain central, now with the added benefit of celebrating as one campus community.
