Printing Google File Types from PrinterOn

Google file types (GDOC, GSHEET, etc) are not able to be printed directly from the PrinterOn app. Use the instructions below for your specific device to print your Google files. For Android and iOS devices, the PrinterOn app and Google Drive app will both need to be installed and configured on your device.

Android

  1. Navigate to the file you wish to print within your Google Drive app
  2. Tap the info icon in the top right corner (3 vertical dots)
  3. Tap Send a copy
  4. Tap the PrinterOn app
  5. Select the printer location you wish to print to
  6. Tap the Printer Options icon in the upper right corner to adjust print settings
  7. Click Print
  8. Enter your NDSU Electronic ID in the Username field
  9. Click OK
  10. You will receive a Job Success notification when it is ready to print at the GoPrint station
  11. Go to the GoPrint Station to pay for and release your print

iOS

  1. Navigate to the file you wish to print within your Google Drive app 
  2. Tap the info icon in the top right corner (3 vertical dots)
  3. Tap Open in
  4. Tap the PrinterOn app
  5. Select the printer location you wish to print to
  6. Tap the Printer Options icon in the upper right corner to adjust print settings
  7. Click Print
  8. Enter your NDSU Electronic ID in the Username field
  9. Click OK
  10. You will receive a Job Success notification when it is ready to print at the GoPrint station
  11. Go to the GoPrint Station to pay for and release your print

Windows, Mac OS, and Chromebook

  1. Open the Google file you wish to print
  2. Click File
  3. Click Download
  4. Select the Format you wish to download it to, PDF is recommended
    • This will download the file to the local Downloads folder
  5. Open a web browser and navigate to https://printeron.ndsu.edu
  6. Click Print on the Web Printing page
  7. Select the printer you wish to print to
  8. Click the Browse button and navigate the Downloads folder, or the specified location you saved the file at from step 4
  9. Select the file you downloaded from step 4
  10. Enter the number Copies you want to print
  11. Leave the Page Range fields blank to print the entire document, otherwise specify the range
  12. Enter your NDSU Electronic ID in the Username field
  13. Click Continue
  14. Change any desired Print Options
  15. Click Continue
  16. The print job will then process
  17. Once it says Complete the print will be ready to be released at the GoPrint station
