CCAST 2025 Summer Workshop on AI/ML
New for Summer 2025, the Center for Computationally Assisted Science and Technology (CCAST) is offering a free workshop on AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning). This is a full-day workshop aimed at getting you started with training, fine-tuning, and performing inference with your own AI models using CCAST HPC resources. Topics include:
- Basics of neural networks
- Different GPU models and how to leverage them
- Submitting and monitoring GPU jobs on CCAST
- Creating reusable Python environments
- Installing popular machine learning workflows
- Downloading and running publicly available AI models
- Scaling up to larger models
The workshop will be held in-person at NDSU, on August 15, 2025. A detailed schedule will be made available to participants closer to the event.
Eligibility
Registration for the Summer workshop in AI/ML is open to faculty, staff, and graduate students at NDSU only. Space is limited, and applicants will be selected on a first-come-first-served basis.
Participants are expected to have at least some familiarity with high performance computing (HPC), either at CCAST or elsewhere. This may include having used HPC for your own research/coursework, or participating in one or more CCAST workshops or training events.
The deadline for registration is July 15.
If you have questions about the program, please send an email to ndsu.ccast.support@ndsu.edu.
