NDSU ID Card - Getting Your Card

Below are instructions and all the things you need in order to get your NDSU Bison ID Card.

New Students

Incoming students who are registered for an in-person orientation will receive their ID card at the end of their orientation day. Once you have ensured that your photo has been submitted online, no further action is needed. Instructions for submitting your photo can be found at the bottom of this page.

Students who did not attend an in-person orientation can stop by the IT Service Center and ask the staff at the front desk to print your ID Card.

New Employees

For New Employees, a Department Supervisor will need to complete the "New Employee Bison ID Request" located in the Bison ID Card section of the IT Service Requests.

  • This is required as a proof of authorization to issue an ID Card to the new staff member.
  • Once the form has been submitted, the New Employee can go to the IT Service Center and ask the staff at the front desk to print their ID Card.

All New Students & Staff will need to bring a government issued ID, driver's license, passport, military or Tribal ID for identity verification purposes.

Lost Your Bison ID Card?

If your ID is lost or misplaced, deactivate your card online through GET, or call NDSU Police at 231-8998.
  • Replacements for Lost ID Cards are issued at the IT Service Center for a $20 fee.

Damaged ID Cards:

If your card is damaged but still in your possession, you can return it at the IT Service Center and have it replaced for $10.
  • Punching a hole, bending, charging your phone on a wireless charging pad with your ID card attached, excessive dirt, scratching, or cracking the card will damage the card.
Replacement for Lost & Damaged cards will always be charged to a Student's Campus Connection account. Employees are responsible for paying the cost of the replacement via credit card.

  • Head coverings are allowed if worn daily for religious purposes.
  • No other people or objects in photo.
