Zoom Rooms at NDSU provide a quick and easy way to connect to your class or meeting using the familiar Crestron touchscreen. The only thing you will need to connect to your call is the Conference ID and passcode. No more need for links, accessing your email or Blackboard, and no source selection to go through. Everything is highly integrated and customized to provide the best possible user experience.
In order to use Zoom Rooms in our Instrumented Classrooms at NDSU, first wake the Crestron touchscreen on the instructor station and select "Start a Zoom Rooms Call". Next, push the "Open Zoom Rooms Controls" button and select the "Join" option. Enter your Conference ID and passcode (if needed) to join your call. You will now be connected and see the new Zoom Rooms control page from which you can make any necessary adjustments to your call. You can return to the In-Room controls page by pushing the "Home" icon on the right side bezel of the Crestron touchscreen.
Zoom Rooms at NDSU are most useful when a quick start into your Zoom call is needed. Zoom Rooms connections are able to share content (computer, laptop, document camera) during the call, but lack some of the functionality around Zoom polling and breakout groups. Please make sure to have your Meeting ID available as this is needed to start your Zoom connection using Zoom Rooms.
