Password Management for NDSU Account and N.D. University System Account

Below are the instructions for changing your password for either/or your NDSU account or N.D. University System Account.

NDSU Account

Reset Password

  1. Go to the Account Management System
  2. Click Login and enter your username and password (NDSU credentials)
  3. In the left menu, click Change Passphrase
  4. Follow the instructions on the page and click Change Passphrase
  5. Logout when you are finished

Recover Forgotten Password

  1. Go to the Account Management System
  2. Click Forgot Password at the bottom 
  3. Click Lookup
  4. Select the recovery option you have set up, SMS or Email
  5. A code will be sent to your recover option
  6. Enter the code
  7. Confirm the DUO MFA prompt if you have multifactor authentication set up
  8. Enter a new password and confirm the new password
  9. Click the Change Passphrase button
  10. Logout when you are finished

N.D. University System Account

Reset Password

  1. Go to https://helpdesk.ndus.edu/
  2. Click Change my password icon
  3. Enter your username and password (NDUS credentials)
  4. Follow the instructions on the page and click Change Password
  5. Logout when you are finished

Forgot Password

  1. Go to https://helpdesk.ndus.edu/
  2. Click Forgot my Password
  3. Click the Recovery Option you want to use, Email or Mobile Device
    • If email, a code will be sent to your recovery email
    • If Mobile Device, open the code generator app you have configured for the account
  4. Click Check Code
  5. Enter a New Password and Confirm Password
  6. Click Change Password
  7. Log out when you are finished
