Password Management for NDSU Account and N.D. University System Account

Below are the instructions for changing your password for either/or your NDSU account or N.D. University System Account.

NDSU Account
Reset Passphrase
- Go to the Account Management System
- Click Login and enter your username and password (NDSU credentials)
- In the left menu, click Change Passphrase
- Follow the instructions on the page and click Change Passphrase
- Logout when you are finished
Recover Forgotten Passphrase
- Go to the Account Management System
- Click Forgot Passphrase at the bottom
- Click Lookup
- Select the recovery option you have set up, SMS or Email
- A code will be sent to your recover option
- Enter the code
- Confirm the DUO MFA prompt if you have multifactor authentication set up
- Enter a new passphrase and confirm the new passphrase
- Click the Change Passphrase button
- Logout when you are finished

N.D. University System Account
Reset Password
- Go to https://helpdesk.ndus.edu/
- Click Change my password icon
- Enter your username and password (NDUS credentials)
- Follow the instructions on the page and click Change Password
- Logout when you are finished
Forgot Password
- Go to https://helpdesk.ndus.edu/
- Click Forgot my Password
- Click the Recovery Option you want to use, Email or Mobile Device
- If email, a code will be sent to your recovery email
- If Mobile Device, open the code generator app you have configured for the account
- Click Check Code
- Enter a New Password and Confirm Password
- Click Change Password
- Log out when you are finished
