Uncrewed Aerial Systems - Regulatory Requirements
Use of Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) in research and teaching must fall within the parameters of 14 CFR Part 107.
To comply:
- Aircrafts must weigh less than 55 pounds
- Flights must be conducted within visual line of sight ( the pilot and/or a dedicated observer must maintain visual sight of the UAS at all times)
- Flights must occur below 400 feet above ground level
- Flights must be conducted during day light
- Pilots must possess their Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
