Consultants and Professional Services
Consultants are external individuals/entities that provide professional advice or services consistent with their normal course of business and typically are paid a fixed rate.
Consultants do not make project decisions, or have responsibility for the scope of work, and typically will not be authors on publications.
- Cost estimates including the work to be performed should be explained in the budget justification.
- NDSU faculty/staff may not be paid as consultants in a sponsored project. NDSU personnel devoting time to a sponsored project should be included in the personnel line of the budget
