Student Employment - Student Employment Coordinator
Hours Per Week: 10-15 hours, varies based on workload
Starting Wage: $19.75 during training period, $20.75 when complete
Reports To: Office Coordinator
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead student employment recruitment activities including advertising positions, coordinating recruitment events, processing applications, and scheduling and conducting interviews
- Oversee new employees' paperwork processes, including leading new employee orientation sessions and conducting 30-day employment review meetings
- Update and maintain the SES website, SES Listserv channel and the Blackboard site
- Under the supervision of the IT Communications Coordinator, represent the IT Division at NDSU recruitment and orientation activities (e.g., Discover NDSU, Resource Fairs, and Part-Time Jobs Fair)
- Coordinate and organize special events - Graduation Luncheon, Fall Retreat, etc.
- Update student employee handbook, position descriptions, interview questionnaires and other related documentation and forms
- Update and maintain student employee records
- Oversee and assist communication with all IT student staff
- Communicate info received regarding personnel issues and work with hiring managers as requested, as appropriate.
- Promote and administer student employee performance evaluation process each semester
- Enforce IT Division student employee work practices
- Adhere to NDSU Human Resources policies
- Maintain a high level of professional competency
- Deal with sensitive situations and information in a confidential manner
- Assist Office of the Vice President for IT with projects and tasks
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Full-time NDSU student
- Worked with NDSU IT for at least one year (two semesters)
- Minimum two semesters commitment (preferably longer)
- Available to work during summer
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Professionalism
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Attended at least one Fall Retreat in the past
- In compliance with all required training modules - Baseline Safety, Title IX, Annual Notice of Policies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Human resources experience
- Management-related or other appropriate academic courses or training
- Public speaking experience
- Marketing experience
- Customer service experience
- Computer skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Outlook
- Adobe Acrobat for creating forms and other documentation
- Qualtrics for creating surveys or forms
- Experience using a Content Management System (CMS) OR Basic website editing experience
