Student Employment (NDSU only) - TLMC Communications Specialist

The Communications Specialist will design, develop, and maintain marketing materials for the TLMC and LAI departments.

Hours Per Week: 15-20
Starting Wage: $10.25/hour
Reports To: TLMC Management Team

NOTE: This position could qualify as a graduate assistantship. To be hired as a graduate assistant, the following criteria must be met: 

1) the student is a graduate student being paid via a stipend instead of hourly
2) the student must work the number of hours agreed upon and specified in the student's Graduate Contract form 
3) the student’s academic department must approve the work as being eligible for a tuition waiver

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Learning Assistant
  • In collaboration with the TLMC Management Team, create marketing materials for the TLMC and LAI Department
  • Work closely with the Workshop Coordinator and Microsoft Office Specialist to develop and implement marketing strategies to promote workshops and the MOS certification
  • Assist with design, development, and/or maintenance of the TLMC website
  • Assist the campus community with projects related to marketing design and development
  • Maintain TLMC social media accounts
  • Other duties assigned

  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills
  • Committed to life-long learning
  • Well-developed computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching, tutoring experience, and/or training experience
  • Experience writing documentation
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft software products
