Student Employment - AV Technology Student Manager
Hours Per Week: 20-25 (up to 40 hours a week when class is not in session)
Starting Wage: $19.75/hour during training, $20.75 when working independently
Reports To: AV Experience Coordinator
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise Classroom Technology Technicians
- Hire, schedule, and train student employees as needed
- Perform regular student evaluations
- Coordinate and lead team meetings
- Directing student employees in the absence of team leader or professional staff member
- Perform Quality Assurance
- Ensure that NDSU IT customers receive effective, timely technical assistance
- Review service tickets, make sure they are addressed in a timely manner, and follow up as needed
- Ensure that NDSU and NDSU IT Policies are being adhered to
- Assist with the development and maintenance of the following documentation:
- Student Training
- Policies, procedures and tasks
- Troubleshooting guides for supported equipment
- End-User training or informational documentation
- Others as needed
- Perform duties and responsibilities of a Classroom Technology Technician
- Assist the Classroom Technology staff in assessing needs for short-term and long-term planning
- Create and maintain a budget for Classroom Technology student staffing and assist in the overall budget for Classroom Technology
- Maintain a high-level of professionalism and perform other duties as directed or assigned by Classroom Technology Specialist Team Leader
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of computers
- Working knowledge of audio/visual equipment
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism
- Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Supervisory/Management/Training experience
- Experience in customer service
- Experience working with professional audio/visual equipment
- Experience working with wiring and cabling
- Experience troubleshooting problems in a fast paced, high pressure environment
- Experience in on-site service and technical support
- Experience writing documentation
- Proven ability to complete projects and duties in a self-directed manner
