How do I delete a file?

When the link(s) to a file expire or are deleted, the file is removed almost immediately. To manually delete a file:
  1. Go to Secure File Transfer, and log in with your NDSU electronic ID and password
  2. At the top of the page, click FileLink
  3. Click the Existing FileLinks tab
  4. Click Delete for all links to the file you wish to delete

What if I need to extend the time my file is available for download?

You may either create a new link using the instructions on Secure File Transfer - Creating a FileLink or you may extend the expiration date for a link for up to fourteen days:
  1. Go to Secure File Transfer, and log in with your NDSU electronic ID and password
  2. At the top of the page, click FileLink
  3. Click the Existing FileLinks tab
  4. Click on the Filename's Link
  5. Edit the Link expires date

How can I send a file that exceeds the quota?

Please contact the IT Help Desk to request a temporary quota increase:

How do I transfer a group of files or a folder?

Zip the files, or a folder and its contents, into a single file. Then attach or upload the zipped file.

Can I store files using Secure File Transfer?

Secure File Transfer is used to send and receive files; however, it is not a file storage service. Files are automatically removed from the server when the links expire.
