Account Hub - Guest and Affiliate Accounts

This web page is intended to give an overview of guest and affiliate account management at NDSU.

Request a Guest Account

Guest accounts are used for a period of 7 days or less. Please contact the IT Security Office at to request guest accounts, and include the following information in your request:
  • Which of the following services should be included in the guest account:
    • Computer Labs
    • Wireless Network
    • NDSU Library Online Services
  • Number of accounts needed
  • Date accounts will be needed by (Note: Please allow 3 business days to process requests for guest accounts)

Request an Affiliate Account 

If an affiliate needs access to both NDSU services and Blackboard, an Affiliate Account and a Blackboard Affiliate Account must be requested. If only NDSU services are needed, only an Affiliate Account needs to be requested.

Affiliate accounts are designed to be used for periods longer than 7 days. Accounts can be requested to be active for up to 12 months, with the option to renew them after that time period.

  1. Go to and login to your NDSU account
  2. Select Create a new affiliate group
  3. Click Submit
  4. Fill out all the information that is requested, please allow for three business days for the account to be processed
    • Affiliate Group Name
    • Justification
    • Services to assign to these affiliates:
      • wireless internet access
      • use computer clusters
      • use NDSU library
    • Accounts and services needed by: (MM/DD/YYY) (At least 3 business days from now)
  5. Click Submit
  6. Fill out all the information about the guest(s) you will be giving this access to and click the Save this affiliate button after completing it for each guest
  7. When finished adding guests click Return to menu   ---  Please Complete all Steps
  8. Select the Submit affiliate group requests to ITS security officer button under the affiliate group
  9. Click Submit
  10. You will receive a notification to your inbox with a PDF attachment detailing how to get the account up and running

Note: If the affiliate forgets the password for their affiliate account and did not set up their recovery options, the NDSU sponsor can contact the IT Help Desk to request a password reset on their behalf.

Renew an Affiliate Account

  1. Go to
  2. Login with your NDSU credentials
  3. Go to the group that needs renewal
  4. Select Renew some of affiliate group ####
  5. Click the Submit button at the bottom of the page
  6. Select yes on each account that you want extended
  7. Select the amount of time you wish to extend
  8. Click Extend chosen accounts  ---  Please Complete all Steps
  9. Go to or Click Return to menu
  10. Select Submit renewal of affiliate group #### request to ITS Security Officer
  11. Click Submit at bottom of the page

Request a Blackboard Affiliate Account

The Blackboard Affiliate Account request form should be filled out by the sponsor.
  1. Go to the NDUS Blackboard Affiliate Request Form and login with your NDUS credentials
  2. Fill out all the information that is requested:
    • Sponsor Email Address
    • Justification
    • Affiliate First Name
    • Affiliate Last Name
    • Affiliate Email Address
  3. Click Submit
You will be notified when the account has been created and what account you will need to add to your course. The individual that is getting the affiliate account will receive an email with directions on how to activate the account.
