NDSU ID Card - Getting Your Card
Below are instructions and all the things you need in order to get your NDSU ID Card.
Note: Employees need funding authorization prior to charging an ID card to their department.
To obtain an NDSU ID Card
Photo Guidelines
Please keep the following in mind before taking/selecting your photo:
- Frame subject with full face, front view, eyes open.
- Make sure to have even lighting on the front of your face.
- The most common reasons for rejecting a photo: lighting is poor and is creating strong shadows on the face, discolored or filter used.
- Leave a margin around a full head shot when you crop your photo.
- No hats, sunglasses, jewelry, or garments of any sort that obstruct the view of your face.
- No other people or objects in photo.
- Must be a color photograph against a plain background (can be a color).
- Subject must have a natural expression and facing forward. We encourage smiling!
- No copyrighted materials.
- Only .JPEG images are accepted. MINIMUM SIZE= 500x500
Submitting Your Photo
Mac & iPhone Users
To submit your photo, please email your photo to the Card Center at ndsu.cardcenter@ndsu.edu using your NDSU email. DO NOT submit a government ID through email, bring it with you upon pick up.
PC Users
To submit your photo, please follow these instructions to upload photo:
- Log in to https://webcard.ndsu.edu/login/ with your NDSU credentials (Electronic ID)
- Click Submit ID Photo from the menu bar on the left
- Click on the Upload Photo button
- Select the photo you wish to upload from your device
- Make sure the photo preview is of the correct photo, and that it follows our guidelines above.
- Click Submit
- Click Submit again
- Log in to https://webcard.ndsu.edu/login/ with your NDSU credentials (Electronic ID)
- Click Submit ID Photo from the menu bar on the left
- Click on the Upload ID button
- Click the Choose File button
- Select the image of your identification from your device
- Make sure the photo preview is correct
- Click Submit
- Click Submit again
Lost ID Cards:
If your ID is lost or misplaced, deactivate your card online, call NDSU Police at 231-8998, or 231-6252 during business hours. The replacement cost is $20.00 from the NDSU Card Center, Memorial Union, You may pay for the new card by charging to the student account, cash, or card.
Damaged ID Cards:
Replacement cost is $10.00 if you turn in the damaged card at time of replacement. ID cards are used for access control and if a card becomes damaged, it could render it unusable. Punching a hole, bending, excessive dirt, scratching, or cracking the card will damage the card.
