Navigating Blackboard: What's Changing and Why

Coming January 9th: As part of Blackboard’s ongoing efforts to deliver a more intuitive, seamless teaching and learning experience, new updates have been made to Blackboard’s system navigation. Use the following resources to learn more about these changes.

User Interface Updates

  • Banner and Header Bar - Covers the whole width of the screen, and has a dark gradient where the course title and ID appear.

  • Home Button - Takes you to the Institution Page and replaces the green "X," which is still present in Learning Modules and Assignments.

  • Course Switcher - Displays the last 4 courses you recently opened. Select a course to go to it, or select "View All" to be taken to the Courses page.
