Zoom Phone - How to Add a Custom Voicemail Greeting
How to use the Audio Library to Select, Record, or Upload a custom voicemail greeting.
To access the Audio Library log into NDSU Zoom Web Portal and select the Phone tab from the left ribbon. Select the Settings tab and scroll down to the Call Handling section.
Record Custom Audio
Note: Recording custom audio is not supported on Internet Explorer.
- Below the business hours section is Greeting & Leave voicemail instruction, select Edit and then select Add Audio.
- Select the Record by Computer tab in the Add Audio menu. Name your recording by typing in the box below the Asset Name heading. Under Category select Voicemail Greeting, and under the Record Audio tab click the red circle button to start/stop recording.
- If prompted by your browser, allow Zoom to access the microphone.
- If prompted by your browser, allow Zoom to access the microphone.
- When finished recording, click the grey square stop button to the right of the record button.
- Listen to your completed recording.
- If it is satisfactory, click Add to post it to your Audio Library.
- If you would like to try again, click Record Again.
Upload Pre-Recorded Audio
- Below the business hours section is Greeting & Leave voicemail instruction, select Edit and then select Add Audio.
- Select the Upload tab in the Add Audio menu and select the blue Upload button under the Audio Upload section.
- Zoom Phone only accepts .mp3 and .wav files that are under 10 MB.
- Select the Add button at the bottom of the Add Audio menu.
Text to Speech
- If you prefer, Zoom can read a greeting for you instead of having to record one yourself.
- Below the business hours section is Greeting & Leave voicemail instruction, select Edit and then select Add Audio.
- Select the Text to Speech tab in the Add Audio menu and type your message in the box under the Message to Play section.
- Select the Add button at the bottom of the Add Audio menu.
- Feel free to change the sound of the reading voice using the Voice dropdown menu
Adding a Different Voicemail Greeting for Holiday Hours
- Next to the Holiday Hours section is Holiday List & Call Handling, select Manage.
- Click Add to enter a holiday break. Click Save.
- Under Greeting & Leave Voicemail Instruction click Edit and follow the steps for Recording a Custom Audio, Uploading a Pre-Recorded Audio, or Text to Speech
