Camtasia FAQs
1. Where can I find the software?
Please use the table on the Software Available in Classrooms and Computer Labs to find which labs have Camtasia currently installed.
2. How do I add captions to my video?
To manually add captions to your video, click on "Audio Effects" in the left panel and click "Captions" and type out what you would like each clip to read. To automatically add captions, click "More" in the left panel and then click "Captions." You can paste your script into the provided box, and it will be applied to the video. To sync the captions, go to the "Modify" tab at the top, click "Captions," and then click "Sync Captions..."
3. How do I save and/or export my project?
To save a video, go to "File", and "Save As." Make sure "Create standalone project" is checked (next to the Save button) to ensure all your files will be with your video. Files are deleted when you log off of the computers, so you should email the project files to yourself, store them on a flash drive, or upload them to the cloud.
To export a video, you can go to "File" and "Export," or press the green "Export" button at the top right of the screen. Depending on your needs, you can choose to export as a local file, or as a local legacy file.
