The following list includes workshop sessions that are offered by the Learning and Applied Innovation Center (LAIC). You may request sessions from this list or contact us to discuss your specific learning needs.
Audacity - Creating Beats:
Learn a creative way to use the free audio editing software Audacity. Generate and sequence drum sounds as well as chop and process audio samples. This workshop will cover an overview of Audacity but will be focused on the musical capabilities of the software.
Excel: Beginners Only:
Learners will gain familiarity with the Excel environment and some of the basic tasks it can perform.
Excel: Doing Something with Data – Filters, Charts & Pivot Tables:
Learners will learn how to use Excel to locate and model data in an easy to understand way.
Excel: Shortcuts and Time-savers in Excel – Advanced Formulas and Macros
Creating a Poster in PowerPoint:
Learners will be able to create a poster in PowerPoint
Creating an ePortfolio using Wix:
Learner will be able to create an ePortfolio in Wix according to their instructors’ requirements.
Video Editing in Adobe Premiere Elements:
Learners will be able to perform basic tasks in assembling, editing and publishing a video project.
Google Apps for Education:
Using your NDSU Google account to create, store and share materials, students will learn to use Google Apps for Education to facilitate productivity, collaboration and distribution.
InDesign: Getting Started:
Learners will have a basic understanding of the workspace, tools, and panels.
InDesign: Posters, Flyers, More!:
Learners will explore some of the common tools in InDesign in order to create a design comprised of objects and multiple sources.
Illustrator: Getting Started:
Learners will have a basic understanding of the workspace, tools, and panels
Introduction to Video Editing in Camtasia:
Learners will perform basic screen capture recording and video editing in Camtasia.
Podcasting in Audacity:
Learners will be able to import, record and edit audio in order to compose an original podcast
Photoshop: Getting Started:
This workshop will introduce the work area and common tools for selection and basic photo correction. You will also be introduced to working with layers.
Photoshop: Photo Editing:
Practice common photo editing techniques and tools within Photoshop
Graduate students will be able to identify and fix common problems in a long word documents such as Thesis or Dissertations
