Export Blackboard Courses
The North Dakota University System, Course Technology Services (CTS) follows a schedule to archive term-based Blackboard courses. More information is available on the LMS Archive & Retention Process KB page.
If you would like to create an export package of your course, the following instructions show how to create an Export package.

Export: creates a ZIP file of your course content. Unlike the archive course feature, the export course feature doesn't include any users or user interactions with the course. Export packages can be imported into a course by an instructor.
Export a course (Original & Ultra)
In this section:
To export a course from Blackboard, follow these steps:

Login to Blackboard and click on the course you want to export.

In the Control Panel of the course you wish to export, click Packages and Utilities.

Click Export/Archive Course.

At the top, you will see "Export Course" click on it.

After you click, you will be taken to the Export Course page.

You will see a section labeled "SELECT COURSE MATERIALS" where you can tick the box next to the materials that you want to export.

Click Submit when you are done selecting the options.

You will need to wait for the export to be processed. You will receive an email to your faculty/staff email address when it is ready

Return to the Export/Archive Course page and click the link for the .zip package to download it to your computer.
Export a Blackboard Ultra Course
To export a course from Blackboard Ultra, follow these steps:

Login to Blackboard and click on the course you want to export.

In the top-right corner, click the three-dot menu (More options).

Select Export Course Package from the dropdown menu.

It will open Export/Archive Course on the right side. Click on the arrow button next to “Course Export Packages”.

A message will appear indicating that the export process has started. You’ll receive an email when the package is ready.

Return to the Export/Archive Course page and click the link for the .zip package to download it to your computer.
