Displaying the Laptop Input in a Videoconference Connection

Below are the instructions for screen sharing the Laptop Input in a Videoconference Connection in an instrumented classroom at NDSU.

First, please make sure that you are in Webconference mode on the Crestron touch screen. Next, for any web conference software, switch to the Laptop input on the Crestron touch screen in the classroom.

Option 1: Windows Camera App
The camera app will show the laptop as an input, and can be used to easily switch between the laptop display and another open item, like a PowerPoint presentation.

Option 2: Directly presenting the laptop display
Using a laptop as a video input will allow for a larger and better view, but will not easily allow for switching between the display and another application that might be used during a lecture, such as a video or PowerPoint.

Option 1: Using the Windows Camera App

Zoom

  • From a zoom call, select the “Share” option
    • For classrooms with multiple monitors, select the screen you wish to share
  • After sharing the screen, use the windows search tool to open the camera app
  • Cycle through the camera inputs using the Change Camera icon in the camera app until the laptop display appears on your screen

Class Collaborate Ultra

  • From a Collaborate session, select the “Share” option
    • For classrooms with multiple monitors, select the screen you wish to share
  • After sharing the screen, use the windows search tool to open the camera app
