How to Add Labster to a Blackboard Course

This document will show you how to upload simulations from Labster to your Blackboard course

Scroll down to number 2 where it says Review Simulation and click on the “Faculty Resource Page” button.

You will be given a library of the simulations, select the one you wish to use.  This will bring up a list of the core simulations for that subject.  Find the one you want use and keep the name of it in mind.

Go back to the https://www.labster.com/ndus/ page we started on once you have decided which simulation you want to use.  Then scroll down to number 4 where it says Import Simulations into your Course(s) and click on the “Faculty Resource Page” button.

This will open a new tab.  Click the “Upload to LMS” tab and then click the “Add Simulations to your LMS” button

This will bring up a list of all the simulations, look for the name of the simulation you looked at earlier and click the plus sign next to it.  This will move it over to the right side (you are also allowed to select more than one).  One you are satisfied with all the simulations you want to upload click the download button.

This will bring up a list of all the supported LMS options, click Blackboard and then click the green button named “Download Common Cartridge File” and the zipped file should start downloading.

Log into Blackboard and go into your course, scroll down to Packages and Utilities under Course Management and click the “Import Packages/View Logs” option.  From here click Import Package.

Under Select a Package click Browse My Computer and select the zipped folder you downloaded.  Once you do that under Institutional Hierarchy Node click Find Node and search for North Dakota State University and click Submit to save the node.  Also, make sure to check the Content Area checkbox under Select Course Materials.

Once you are done with those 3 steps click Submit. Wait a little bit and refresh the page and along the left side of your Blackboard page you should see your Labster Simulations tab and you are good to go!!!
