Identity and Access Management

Below is an overview of identity and access management at NDSU.

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) tool provides self-service capabilities to NDSU faculty and staff who are responsible for managing departmental and cross-departmental access to certain IT services, including group access to departmental workstation computers.

Using IAM, service managers may have the ability to view, add and/or remove other people's access to those services. The benefits of using IAM include:

  • Secure self-service
  • Make changes anytime, anywhere (with Internet access)
  • Faster turnaround time
  • Able to self-audit access list regularly to ensure it is up-to-date

Intended Audience
