Blackboard Manager
Blackboard Manager allows instructors to merge different sections of the same course into one parent section in Blackboard.
Instructors will have immediate access to courses they are scheduled to teach in Blackboard (Bb) Manager. If you do not see your course list in Bb Manager, log into Blackboard and check to see if your course is closed.
Before merging using Bb Manager, ensure there is no content in any of the courses being merged.
Log into Blackboard Manager
- Log into Blackboard Manager using your Bison Login.
- Click on the Course Merge Wizard on the left menu.
- Select the correct term (i.e., Spring 2025, Summer 2025) and click next.
- In the “master course name” field, type a name for the parent course. The course title is only seen by the instructor. Naming Example: Fall 2019: CHEM 101 – Introduction to Chemistry – Parent
- Select the courses you would like to merge and click Next.
- Review the validation page and click submit request.
- If you need to make a correction, click cancel and start over.
- Log out of BB Manage.
Log into Blackboard to View the Merged Course and Write Down the Course ID
- Log into Blackboard using your NDUS username (typically first.lastname) and password.
- In your course listing, you should see the merged course; if not, refresh your screen.
- Write down the merged course ID to keep as a record. If you ever need to request a copy of the course after it has been archived and removed from Blackboard, you will need to provide this course ID in the ticket request.
