Blackboard Manager - Merging Multiple Sections

Below is an overview of merging in Blackboard Manager.

Merging Multiple Sections:

To Log into Blackboard Manager follow these steps:

  1. Blackboard Manager login - BB Manager
  2. On the Blackboard Institution Page select Bb Manager (Instructors Only) – to merge courses
  3. On the right, click Sign in > Blackboard Manager
  4. When in Blackboard Manager, click top right Login > use your Bison Login to log in
  5. Click on the Course Merge Wizard on the left menu
  6. Select the correct term, Merge courses for the term, and Next.
  7. Courses where you are listed as the instructor in Campus Connection for the selected term appear for you to merge.
  8. In the “Master course name” field, type a name for the master/parent course. The suggested format includes the: term, dept. acronym, course number, course title and “Parent”. Students do not see this title -- they see the course title as it appears in Campus Connection.
    1. Naming Example: Fall 2019: CHEM 101 – Introduction to Chemistry – Parent
    2. IMPORTANT: a new course ID will be created, you must remember this number if you want to retrieve the course content from the archives. This new number can only be found for 1 year and is not recorded for future reference, you must keep it.
      New Course ID Example: NDSU1-2410-P-57418  
  9. Check the boxes to the left of each course section to be merged.
  10. Click Next.
  11. The Course Wizard: Validation page, review your course merge selections, if correct Submit it not Cancel and start over.
  12. Log out
