Wired Internet
Overview
Using an Ethernet cable will connect your electronic device (computer, tablet, gaming console, etc.) to a network, which will allow you to have internet access and interact with shared network resources. It is an alternative to a wireless Wi-Fi connection that may over a more stable Internet connection to your device. There are data ports available for use in residence halls rooms and department offices to which you may connect your device using an Ethernet cable.
Students living in the residence halls might opt for a wired connection for a more stable connection while using devices such as gaming consoles and Smart TVs. Opting for a wired connection when possible also will free up shared wireless bandwidth, allowing for better experiences for devices that can only connect via wireless.
