Qualtrics - What To Do If Your Survey Respondents Receive a DNS Error Notice

Here is what you should do if your survey respondents receive a DNS error notice like this DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN.

    If multiple people have told you that the link does not function or open, while others have been able to open it. Request they email you the error message to ensure that it is the DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN problem. If it is a DNS error, that is a problem with their internet service provider. The DRN (Dickey Rural Networks) provider identified a problem (12/9/2022) and implemented a temporary solution. Please urge everyone who is experiencing this error to contact their provider to report the issue.

    To get around the DNS problem, instruct them to use their cell data service rather than the wifi connection. Alternatively, try another network.

    Additional information they will need is what browser you are using and if it is updated. Have you tried other browsers? What operating system are you using (Windows 10, Windows 11, Mac).
