Below are the frequently asked questions about the Instructional Design Center (IDC)

1. What does the IDC stand for?

The Instructional Design Center.

2. Where is the IDC located and what are the hours of operation?

The  IDC lab is in the Quentin Burdick Building (QBB) 150G. For up-to-date information including holiday hours, please visit the IDC homepage for services and hours of operation.


3. What services does the  IDC provide to the NDSU campus community?

The  IDC provides a variety of services for faculty, staff, and students. Services for students and staff include thesis formatting assistance, one-on-one assistance, workshops, and digital media services.  Services for faculty include instructional services and resources, course development consultations, one-on-one assistance, professional development opportunities, and digital media services. 4. What software is available in  IDC ?

The  IDC lab computers have Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, Audacity, YuJa, and Respondus Lockdown Browser installed.


5. Can I book an appointment for thesis formatting or should I walk in?
 

Students can book an appointment with our thesis formatting specialist by calling 701-231-5130 or walk-in during our hours of operation.


6. Can participants register for a workshop over the phone?
 

No. Participants can register for a workshop by visiting the  IDC KB pages, Software and Application Training, or Faculty Professional Development Opportunities, and following the prompts in the workshop description.


7. Where can I find the  IDC workshop and training schedules?

8. Where can I find the Zoom link for  IDC training and workshops? 

Each month the  IDC sends training and workshop announcements via email to the faculty, staff, and student email lists.  Each email announcement includes detailed workshop information and the Zoom link. If you cannot find the email please visit one of our training pages to find the workshop description and Zoom link.

9. How to submit a Help Desk and/or Support ticket? 

Faculty, staff, and students can submit a ticket by visiting the Help Desk KB page and navigating to "Report a Problem"  at the top of the page
