Software and Application Training Catalog

The following list includes workshop sessions that are offered by the Instructional Design Center (IDC). You may request sessions from this list or contact us to discuss your specific training needs.
Microsoft Word 1: Document Creation, Formatting, and Layout Techniques: Learners will gain confidence in creating and formatting documents using Microsoft Word. They will learn how to start a new document, apply paragraph spacing, align and indent text, adjust page layout settings, insert and format tables and objects, and use basic proofreading tools like spellcheck, find-and-replace.
Microsoft Word 2: Referencing tools, collaboration features, and inserting equationss: Learners will develop intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, including managing document structure with breaks, inserting and formatting citations and bibliographies, using collaboration tools like Track Changes and Comments, and editing mathematical equations using Unicode Math.
Excel 1: For Beginners Only: Learners will gain familiarity with the Excel environment and some of the basic tasks it can perform.
Excel 2: Data Analysis with Sorts, Filters, Formatting, Pivot Tables, and Pivot Charts: Learners will use Excel to organize, analyze, and display data in different ways.
Thesis Formatting Session 1 and Session 2: Graduate students will be able to identify and fix common problems in long word documents, such as theses or Dissertations. 
Improve Accessibility of Your Digital Files: Learners will gain a deeper understanding of how to improve the accessibility of documents, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF files.
