Zoom News and Updates

This page contains the most recent information regarding Zoom updates and product news that might affect NDSU users.

October 17th, 2022 - Upcoming update: This update only affects users utilizing the registration feature for their meeting or webinar. With this update, by default, when an attendee registers for an event, the join link will no longer be displayed on the confirmation page of their web browser. Instead, the attendee will find the join link in the email confirmation, which will be sent to them as usual. This feature can be turned off by selecting the checkbox marked "Show join info on registration confirmation page" on the registration setup page (see below).

August 6th, 2022 - Upcoming update: On August 6, 2022, Zoom will be retiring Zoom Client versions below 5.3.0 for Zoom Client for Meetings, Zoom Rooms, Zoom Phone, and SDK (5.4.0)  to address a critical security vulnerability. Zoom has previously advised of a minimum version requirement of 5.8.6 across Zoom products and services as of November 5, 2022 (please refer to the help article for more info). You may also choose to update to the current version (5.11.3) today to avoid multiple updates in short succession and to take advantage of all our latest security and functionality features.
